First week continued...WINE

So this is the story of the only two people in France who don't actually like wine (oops) I feel like I missed the class on like how to drink wine and like it because to me it still tastes like cough medicine..??

Anyways, last week we visited Chateau Val Joanis, a lovely winery a bit north of Aix, and I was quite looking forward to grabbing a grape off some vine but it's winter so everything is dead. :( Still though, the gardens were beautiful and I took some fun pictures!

After exploring the grounds we were ushered into a big hall for the wine tasting which again, everyone was super excited for except tbh we were nervous :) We learned how to stick our noses in the glass for the initial whiff and then swirl around the liquid, thus unlocking new scents for the second smell. fascinating stuff! Then came the drinking. Allie and I made ourselves take one sip of each glass of wine, the White, Rosé, and Red and then hand off our glasses to our friends who drank with much more enthusiasm. Current Motto: Take more pics than sips.

Other Motto: I don't drink wine I just wear it.

Also super proud my nails were painted for this picture! Over all it was a fun experience, and we have our whole lives to enjoy the subtle nuttiness and hints of citrus (???) in wine but for now we'll just enjoy how classy the glass makes us feel.
