5 Things I Learned in Barcelona

Well, this is a weekend I'll never forget...

1. Check the weather...and listen to it

You know that feeling of dread when you see the little rain cloud on the Weather App? Well, I chose to ignore that feeling and ignore the forecast because Barcelona was supposed to be warm and sunny and beachy gosh darn it. So we packed swimsuits and short sleeves, and naturally, it rained. But it didn't just rain, it was a flood of Biblical proportions!!!!!!!

2. Don't wear Birkenstocks and socks when there's a flood of Biblical proportions outside

You can see where this went...

3. Make friends with people in your hostel

Especially if his name is Charles (last name hidden for security purposes) and he tells you he had to flee Thailand once and last year he spent his last birthday singing and drinking with a homeless man in Australia. AND especially if he's Ukrainian because then he probably doesn't know how to iron and you can make fun of him while he makes a fool of himself

4. Churros are hard to find

But only the ones where you dip them in chocolate. We thought we struck gold at a food truck but the guy who worked there may or may not have been making out with his girlfriend behind the counter, so we ran away

5. The beach is hard to find

We spent half the day on the metro trying to get to the beach, and finally...we ended up not at the beach

À bientôt, Al
