A Couple of Ski Bunnies

BONJOUR sorry it's been so long but we are going to go back in time a little bit and talk about our ski trip to the FRENCH ALPS!!!

My first time skiing was senior of high school (if we're not counting 4-year old Allie going down the bunny slopes with a ballon tied to her butt), and lordy, am I glad I had that ski trip with my family because these slopes were hard.

Here, the greens are the difficulty level of our blues, their blues = blacks, and their blacks = double blacks. And the first time we went down the mountain it was snowing right into our eyes!!!!! Not pleasant.

But once the snow stopped, it was glorious, and there was a group of us that generally stuck together. We decided to go up to the top of the mountain after lunch and try a blue (OMG). Now, folks, keep in mind that we did NOT know that a blue equaled a black at the time, and we were naively bouncing with excitement on the ski lift all the way to the top, ready to tackle this new adventure. After the many falls and many breaks, we made it to the bottom, tired but proud of our accomplishment!

That afternoon we went to a cute café where I was bold and order vin chaud (hot wine), and if you follow me on snap you know how that turned that out. Maddie of course ordered un chocolat chaud (hot chocolate) and it was of course divine.

The second day was filled with ice skating and relaxation in the alps. At least four of our friends had done some sort of ice skating in the past (idk is that a thing in the north? I don't know anyone from my hometown or university who took ice skating as a kid...hmu if you have insight), so Maddie and I got to learn how to spin and even how to stop without running into the side of the rink.

For lunch we had CHICKEN NUGGETS and fries and hot chocolate.

And that is where I leave you. Overall, I think the Alps trip has been one of my favorite weekends! Friends, faire du ski, and FRIES.

À bientôt,

Al

P.S. the french boy has NOT fallen in love with me yet, but idk why (see first picture)
